A piece sold in the working condition it's currently in, with no rebuild, replacement, or cosmetic work carried out. Before it's listed, it's given a clean, looked over from top to bottom (using a Quality Assurance sheet), and checked to confirm it powers on and runs as it should — so it's a working machine, not an unknown. What it doesn't get is the teardown a refurbished piece goes through: nothing is taken apart, nothing is refinished, and worn or aging parts are left in place rather than replaced. That means normal traces of its earlier life — marks, scuffs, and general signs of prior use in both looks and feel — are to be expected, and the parts that wear over time may already be partway through their lifespan.

As Is equipment suits buyers who want a functioning piece at a lower price and aren't concerned about cosmetic wear or having the newest internal parts. Because no rebuild has been done, it's sold without a warranty.
